I read the book Spy Smuggler. It was about a boy named Paul, whose country has been invaded by Germans. He decides to join the Resistance to help stop the German invasion. He does this by smuggling British spies out of France and back to Britain. If you were alive when WWII started, what would you do and why???
If I were alive during that time period I would have signed up for an military mechanic because I enjoy fixing and working around machinery and it would be also important to the war.
If I were alive during WWII started, I would have been very sad but also I would have tried to make the best of it and be as happy and positive as possible! :)
If I were alive during that time I would probably dead, soon because I'm not that violent but I would probably join the war because I would feel left out. :(
No, Patrick, I think you would join the army at the time of the war because you felt it was your duty to. If you have ever read a book that explains the feelings of the men joining the military, you could tell by the way they 'speak' that they feel they have to. If you read Rilla of Ingleside (I recommend this to the girls) which is the last book in the Anne of Green Gables series you could tell that Anne's sons Walter and Jem felt they had to go to war in order to save their country...they did it for the Queen and their country.
I think if I were alive at the time of WWII, I would be terrified! Women were not allowed to join the military at the time, so I would be stuck at home worrying about the men in my family, who of course would be part of the great fight. I would form groups and commities that would help the other women in my community cope with all the stress that they were feeling at the time.
The second book I've read is Everest- The climb. It is about four teens climbing Mt Everest, to become the next youngest person to reach the top. Three of these four are only in it for the prize and title they would claim if the conquered the summit. The fourth person's name is Perry. He hates climbing, and is only doing it because his billionaire uncle made him. If you were in Perry's situation when his uncle told him to climb Everest, how would you react???
Did he live with his uncle? If so that would change my opinion. You could die climbing Mount Everest and I would not feel comfortable doing so no matter who told me to do it!
Well that would change it completely...if you had noone else to turn to what would happen then? If your parents told you to climb Mt. Everest would you do it?
Spy smuggler- If i lived during this time period i would do the same thing as paul and protect my country. I think that they could make a good movie out of this book.
If I were alive in WW11 I would be at home taking care of my family and waiting for my husband to come home. I would do this because that is what I would have to do to keep my family together.Elizabeth
i think it would deffinately be like a life changing expierience... everyone thinks they have to so easy. it's crazy. when we learn about it in history, or at school, we kinda just think it's bad, but we're lucky because its not us

ReplyDeleteYes he does!!! And I would never, ever, EVAAAAAAR climb Everest. Not even for a billion dollars $).
ReplyDeleteAre his parents dead or do they just live somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteThey're dead... I think... they don't really mention what happened to the the parents in the book.
ReplyDeleteWell that would change it completely...if you had noone else to turn to what would happen then? If your parents told you to climb Mt. Everest would you do it?
ReplyDeleteNo!!! That'd be like attempting suicide! Did I mention that Perry has had no training what so ever???
ReplyDeleteWhat would you do Eve?
ReplyDeleteWell L'il Em ;), I'd change my name so I wouldn't have that ridiculous nickname any more; but there's still no way I'd ever climb Mt. Everest.
ReplyDeleteI would also change my name so I wouldn't have THAT rediculous nickname also!
ReplyDeleteI would not climb mount everest because no one can actually really make you do it.
