  1. I’m reading a book called “It’s Kind of a Funny Story”. This story is about a teenage boy named Craig; he admits himself into a psychiatric hospital because he was very depressed about school, friends and of course life. Throughout the book it takes you of his journey of finding himself as a person while he’s at the psychiatric hospital, he makes new friends and learns that you only need simple things in life to make you truly happy. I enjoy this book because it is filled with different genres in one, romantic, humorous and dramatic. I feel like these are the genres inside of it because there is a mixture of an unexpected love story, funny remarks and the seriousness of depression. I would recommend this novel to anyone who likes books with these qualities in them. While this book is about a sad topic, it’s a hilarious and light story. If you were in Craig's situation what would you have done?

  2. I probably would of done the same as Craig, make the best of the situation. He helped himself by getting immediate help, at the end he made many long lasting friends and some really amazing memories.

  4. Also Known as Harper

How would you feel if you were evicted from your very own home and had to find a new place to live? Well, for harper (named after the “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Harper Lee.) and her mom and brother, that was their reality! After this happened to Harper and her family, for a while they lived in a dumpy old motel until they made friends with a mute, her brother and the old lady in a wheel chair behind the motel. While her mom is looking for jobs, Harper must face the difficulties of looking after her brother, Hemingway, not getting caught by the social worker, worrying about her estranged alcoholic dad and trying to figure out where her family will live. I think the genre of the book would be a bit of drama because of the suspenseful moments, and also fiction because the story is not solely based on a real person. The book has a bit of drama in it because you never know if a social worker will catch her for taking care of her brother during school and also when she has to find a place for her family to live. Even though unfortunate people face this reality everyday, this book is fictional and not based on a real person.
